Biography

Born and raised in the armpit of America (otherwise known as Louisiana), Taylor Sunny Diaz escaped to Albuquerque in the Fall of 2014 to pursue her Master's in British Literature. As an Early Modernist, she has a turbulent but fairly passionate relationship with her main squeeze, John Milton, although she also enjoys spending time with other writers such as Margaret Cavendish and Ben Jonson. She is also a growing young theorist and enjoys using both trauma and queer theory to interrogate Early Modern texts. Her current project is an analysis via trauma theory of Milton's Samson Agonistes, a reading of Milton's final work which reveals textual anxieties about identity and monumentalization in post-Restoration England. When she's not stuck in the 17th century, she also enjoys video games, Japanese animation, swimming, and reading comic books.
