Biography

Katherine (Kate) Alexander, a University of New Mexico retiree, holds a Master of Music Degree (M.Mu.) in piano, a Master of Arts (M.A.) in English literature, and a Ph.D. in British/Irish Literature. With concentrations in Romanticism, Victorianism, as well as criticism and theory, her scholarship focuses on the literary contributions of Dorothy Wordsworth, Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley, and Emily Brontë. She continues her work as a church organist and pianist while also playing with a chamber music group. Currently, she is an instructor in several classes in the Department of English Language and Literature.
