Biography

Haley received her Bachelor of Arts in English at Wayland Baptist University. She pursued further studies at the University of College Cork in Cork, Ireland. There, she completed a Master of Arts degree in English Modernities: Modernism & Postmodernism in American & British Literature & Film. Now at UNM, Haley is pursuing her PhD in American Literary Studies, specializing in 19th and Early-20th Century American Literature. 

Her research interests encompass many genres and eras, most notably intersecting with practices of immigration and assimilation in the 19th Century. She also studies theories of the Self-and-Other and early feminist theories expressed in American Gothic, Realism, and Naturalism eras, as well as early 20th Century American texts. Haley has had the pleasure to present various papers and research at national conferences, both in the U.S. and in Ireland. She has also published works in a national, collegiate journal.
