Biography

Damien is a PhD student in the British, Irish, and Global Literary Studies program. His interests include trans theory, queer theory, and the British Victorian Gothic novel. He earned his BA and MA in English Literature from Texas Woman's University in Denton, Texas. His PhD will focus on reading Victorian Gothic literature through the lens of trans theory to understand cultural anxieties (both then and now) about gender identity, expression, and medical transition.
