BiographyGregory Martin is the author of the memoir, STORIES FOR BOYS, (Hawthorne Books), a Barnes & Noble Discover Great New Writers pick and the SEATTLE READS one city, one book selection for 2013. Martin’s first book, MOUNTAIN CITY (FSG/North Point Press), received a Washington State Book Award, was named a New York Times Notable Book, and is referred to by some people in Mountain City as “the book.” Martin’s work has appeared in Image, The Sun, The Kenyon Review, Creative Nonfiction, Orion, Witness, the Los Angeles Review of Books and elsewhere. A Professor of English, Martin has received the Award for Teaching Excellence from the College of Arts and Sciences, as well as UNM’s Outstanding Teacher of the Year Award. He teaches undergraduate and graduate creative nonfiction in the Creative Writing Program.
