The Master of Arts Degree
The English program offers three paths to the Master of Arts degree: Literature, Medieval Studies, and Rhetoric and Writing.
Literature
An MA in English with an emphasis in Literature provides the student with a broad understanding of literature studies, with exposure to a wide range of traditions.
Medieval Studies
An MA in English with an emphasis in Medieval Studies provides an excellent interdisciplinary program, with courses in English, History, and Art History, as well as other disciplines throughout campus.
Rhetoric and Writing
An MA in English with an emphasis in Rhetoric and Writing prepares students for careers in either professional writing or the teaching of writing.
