Professor Emerita of Medieval Studies, Helen Damico recently passed due to complications arising from COVID 19. Damico taught at UNM for over 30 years, and founded the Institute for Medieval Studies at UNM which hosts the popular annual Medieval Spring Lecture Series. She also established other initiatives that brought her passion for Medieval and Old English studies to her students and the community at large.
