The English Language and Literature Department congratulates our Program Specialist, Susan McAllister, who won one of four 2021 Outstanding Staff Awards at UNM.
Susan’s numerous contributions to the Department include providing administrative support for the Department’s Core Writing program, which enrolls approximately 3,300 first- and second-year UNM students per year. Susan also facilitates management for several of the Department’s established operations, including the Rudolfo Anaya Lecture Series, the Mary Power Lecture in Irish Studies, and the D.H. Lawrence Ranch Initiatives. Funding for the Department is secured through Susan’s grant writing and other fundraising efforts.
The Outstanding Staff Award is coordinated by the Provost’s Committee for Staff and is distributed yearly based upon nominations by UNM’s faculty, staff, and students. Recipients must demonstrate extraordinary service to UNM and contribute significantly to their home department and its accomplishments.
