Faculty and Graduate Students Participate in ACIS

An English Department Faculty and two Graduate Students attended, presented, and participated in the American Conference for Irish Studies West (AICS) themed, “Re-Emergence,” held in The Irish Cultural Center & McClelland Library Phoenix, Arizona.

Sarah L. Townsend, BILS Assistant Professor, presented, “Irishness as White Supremacy: The Racial Politics of Avoca Handweavers,” in the session, “The Cultural Work of Identity.”

Emma Mincks, BILS PhD Student, presented, “Bearing Witness to the Making of Relatives,” alongside Townsend in the same session.

Emily Reiff, BILS PhD Student, presented, “Emerging Posthumanisms in 21st-Century Irish Literature and Culture,” in “The Ecology of Place in a Global, Connected World” session.
