Professional Writing Associate Professor Receives Award

Stephen Benz, Associate Professor of Professional Writing is the recipient of the Keleher/Telfair Hendon Award, which goes to junior professors for noteworthy contributions to the English Department. Beyond Benz’s Benz’s dedicated teaching in the Rhetoric and Writing program and steadfast service to the Undergraduate program, Dr. Benz has furthermore published not one but two books in 2019: a collection of poetry, Whirlwind, Thorn Tree, Tumbleweed (Finishing Line Press, 2019) and a creative non-fiction book, Topographies (Etruscan Press, 2019). Benz also wrote a scholarly article on “The Rhetoric of Regime Change,” and three shorter essays.
