Assistant Professor Recognized for ‘Best’ Mystery Story

Andrew Bourelle recently published a short story in The Best American Mystery Stories 2018. The anthology is part of Houghton Mifflin Harcourt’s “Best American” series and includes 20 short stories deemed the best mystery stories published in the calendar year 2017. About 3,000 stories were considered for the anthology. Other authors represented in the anthology include T.C. Boyle, Lee Child, Michael Connelly, and Joyce Carol Oates. Bourelle’s story is titled “Y Is for Yangchuan Lizard” and is a noir story about a drug made of narcotics mixed with crushed dinosaur bones. This is Bourelle’s second time appearing in The Best Amerian Mystery Stories; his story “Cowboy Justice” was published in the 2015 edition.
