C19 Society of Nineteenth-Century Americanist Conference Comes to Albuquerque

UNM will play local host to the 2018 C19-Society of Nineteenth-Century Americanist conference, when it comes to Albuquerque from March 22-25 at the downtown Hyatt Regency. The international conference of the only academic society devoted to nineteenth-century American literary studies convenes once every two years and was previously held at Penn State University, UNC-Chapel Hill, and at UC-Berkeley. The Society brings together established and emerging scholars, teachers, and students in the field through traditional conference presentation format as well as focused seminar sessions. This year’s conference theme is “Climate,” a category that invites papers on the environmental, political, cultural, and social meaning of the word in relation to C19 American literary production, then and now. For more information on the conference, visit the C19 website, check out this podcast explaining the conference, its theme of Climate, and what to expect for attendees, or contact Dr. Jesse Alemán at jman@unm.edu.
