Arts and Sciences Teaching Excellence Award Recipients

One of our Faculty and a Teaching Assistant both won Arts and Sciences Teaching Excellence Awards.

Professor of Creative Writing, and Associate Chair for Undergraduate Studies, Sharon Warner won the Faculty Teaching Excellence Award for her almost 20-year work with the Taos/UNM Writers Conference, her teaching in the MFA Program, as well as her development and masterful execution of the English 249 course.

MFA student and Teaching Assistant, Ana June won the T.A. Teaching Excellence Award for her great ability to engage students in the writing process. The award letter cites her contribution to the university as “far beyond the norm for teaching assistants.”

In the words of our current Chair, Anita Obermeier, “Our department continues to model excellent teaching, as Sharon and Ana swell our ranks of already outstanding teachers.”

Congratulations, Sharon and Ana!
