Associate Professor Sarah Hernandez and Principal Lecturer Julianne Newmark, along with colleague Chris Pexa of Harvard, co-edited a recent Special Issue of Studies in American Indian Literatures. The Očhéthi Šakówiŋ Special Issue features scholarly essays, book reviews, interviews, and reflections — focusing on the scholarship, poetry, fiction, and non-fiction texts of Očhéthi Šakówiŋ writers, across three centuries. The issue also celebrates the Očhéthi Šakówiŋ Writers Society (formerly the Oak Lake Writers Society).
