Medievalists Join Regional Conference

UNM Medievalists played prominent roles in the recent meeting of the 2021 Rocky Mountain Medieval and Renaissance Association, which was conducted virtually.

Jessie Bonafede, PhD student in Medieval Studies, was elected to the RMMRA Excutive Board and presented “The Good, the Bad, and the Monstrous: Analyzing Heroic Displacement and Transgression through Beowulf and the Grendel Quest.” 

Nahir Otaño Gracia, Assistant Professor of Medieval Studies and British & Irish Literary Studies, presented “Crisis and the Borderlands in The Turk and Sir Gawain.” 

Jonathan Davis-Secord, Associate Professor of Medieval Studies and British & Irish Literary Studies, assumed the duties of the Affiliations officer. 

Sarah Davis-Secord, Associate Professor of History, presented in the discussion panel “How to Teach a Global Middle Ages” and assumed the office of President of the association.
