The 9th annual Celebration of Student Writing in the Student Union Building gave undergraduate students enrolled in English 110, 120, and 220 classes, as well as other writing classes at UNM, an opportunity to showcase their writing abilities – both by utilizing creative displays that included interactive writing games, digital projects and students’ favorite pieces of literature, and by presenting versions of their coursework from the first half of the semester. The event was originally created to allow a space for student to share and celebrate their work and to see the work other writing classes were producing.
After viewing all displays, audience members were asked to vote for their favorite installation. There were 2 winners –
Emma Mincks’ class with a project focused on labels and reflection (pictured above,)
and Monica Wolfe’s class with an “Identitree” project (pictured right.)
It is a second win for Mincks and a first time win for Wolfe, whose class has decided to donate their prize to Planned Parenthood.
