Breeanna Watral received her B.A. in English and History summa cum laude from Dominican University in May of 2015. She is a medievalist with an endless fascination with the intersections of the modern and medieval, particularly in contemporary fantasy literature. She wrote her undergraduate honors thesis on the relationship between contemporary fantastic literature and medieval literature, focusing specifically on J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit and Patrick Rothfuss’ Kingkiller Chronicle. At some point in the relatively near future, she hopes to write about medievalism in C.S. Lewis’s Chronicles of Narnia and Arthurian themes in the Dragon Age franchise.
When she is not up to her eyeballs in medieval literature, Breeanna enjoys writing creatively, playing video games, reading, and drinking unholy amounts of tea.
