Biography

Breeanna Watral is a master's student with a BA in English and History from Dominican University.  Breeanna is a medievalist whose interests center around medievalism, queer theory, and popular culture and has developed an affinity for fantasy films, television, and novels.  She has written and presented on a variety of medieval topics, including BBC's Robin Hood, BBC's Merlin, and several young adult novels with prominent queer and medieval themes.  While in graduate school, Breeanna has also developed a passion for pedagogy and enjoys using her own experience with writing and research to guide her students in their own academic endeavors.

When not studying or teaching, Breeanna can be found reading for pleasure, playing video games, dismantling archaic perceptions of gender and sexuality, or working on her queer romance novel.  She is always accompanied by an unholy amount of tea.
