Biography

Deanna Tenorio received her Bachelor of Arts in Interpersonal Communication and Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of New Mexico. She is a Core Writing Instructor for the English department and is currently pursuing her Master's degree in English Language and Literature. Her areas of study include Indigenous and Chicana feminisms, the female bildungsroman in post-colonial texts, and assimilation through the education system.

Deanna is committed to community support and teaching. She is a volunteer in youth sports and co-founded a flamenco studio for children in Albuquerque. In the classroom, her teaching style is based on mentorship, practical application, and building community.
