{"id":2726,"date":"2021-10-12T10:35:00","date_gmt":"2021-10-12T16:35:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/english.unm.edu\/blog\/?p=2726"},"modified":"2021-11-05T10:36:27","modified_gmt":"2021-11-05T16:36:27","slug":"english-students-publish-in-conceptions-southwest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/english.unm.edu\/blog\/blog\/2021\/10\/12\/english-students-publish-in-conceptions-southwest\/","title":{"rendered":"English Students Publish in Conceptions Southwest"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The 2020-2021 issue of <a href=\"https:\/\/csw.unm.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Conceptions Southwest<\/a> showcases the wide range of undergraduate and graduate writing talent of students in the English Department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our undergardautes had five pieces published:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alex Dickey, &#8220;Nuevo&#8221;, which won the CSW Award for Poetry<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Michael Johnson, &#8220;Dinner Where I Live&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Blake Moore, &#8220;Bottles&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lily O&#8217;Connor, &#8221; A Crumbling Foundation&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Zoe Perls, &#8220;Notes on the Rain (We Must Praise Higher)&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>English graduate students were also well represented:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Amanda Kooser published the poem, &#8220;Damn Europe,&#8221; and Kennia Lopez published two poems, &#8220;What I Meant When I Said We Were Seeds,&#8221; and &#8220;Petra Meaning Rock.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jennifer Tubbs published a work of Creative Nonfiction entitled, &#8220;Genealogy&#8221;\u00a0and, AJ Odasso published &#8220;An Unpretty Prequel: Lessons on Life and Literacy,&#8221; also a work of Creative Nonfiction.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The 2020-2021 issue of Conceptions Southwest showcases the wide range of undergraduate and graduate writing talent of students in the English Department.
