In partnership with KUNM\u2019s Generation Justice and Spoken Word Hour, the Rudolfo and Patricia Anaya Lecture on the Literature of the Southwest presents a two-hour radio tribute to Mr. Anaya, \u201cA Celebration of Poets,\u201d on April 25 @7pm, 89.9 FM KANW, featuring local poets Hakim Bellamy, Damien Flores, Michelle Otero, Levi Romero, and Tanaya Winder. Each day this week, our poets will \u201ctake over\u201d our English Department Instagram and Anaya Lecture Facebook pages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our featured poet is Levi Romero, the inaugural New Mexico Poet Laureate (2020) and New Mexico Centennial Poet (2012). He is co-editor of the anthology, Querencia: Reflections on the New Mexico Homeland<\/em>, co-author of Sagrado: A Photopoetics Across the Chicano Homeland<\/em>, and author of two poetry collections, A Poetry of Remembrance: New and Rejected Works <\/em>and In the Gathering of Silence<\/em>. He is from the Embudo Valley of northern New Mexico and is an Assistant Professor in the Chicana\/Chicano Studies Department at UNM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
