(After all, the event was conceived as a means of connecting the UNM Albuquerque campus with the D. H. Lawrence Ranch outside of Taos.) For the past 17 years, the Sagebrush Inn has been a wonderful home for the event. For most of those years, we were grateful for the hospitality and efficiency of long-time owners Ken and Louise Blair. Our new conference name is the University of New Mexico Summer Writers\u2019 Conference in Santa Fe.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s still northern New Mexico, and we are still being watched over by\u00a0 D. H. Lawrence, who visited Santa Fe every time he visited Taos. It\u2019s the same old conference in a new location, one with a great view of Santa Fe from the 5th floor roof-top pool, hot tub and bar. Think of it as a revision of a book that was already rather successful. Now, it\u2019s going to be even better.
