Her poetry\u00a0 explores folklore, science, and the collective unconscious, and has already appeared in\u00a0<em>Conceptions Southwest, Cloudthroat Journal, Lavender Review,\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0<em>the Taos Journal of Poetry and Art.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Her most recent publications include:<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/motherboard.vice.com\/en_us\/article\/gyw8km\/the-river\">The River<\/a>&#8216; in Vice magazine, which is dedicated to original pieces on arts, culture, and news topics.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">In a future where immigrants have been made outlaws, a man reluctantly escapes to the home he never knew in the dying Amazon.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.rickysbackyard.com\/weekly-2\/arithomania-tori-cardenas-vampire-shortfiction-amwriting\/\">Arithomania<\/a>&#8216; has been published in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rickysbackyard.com\/\">Ricky\u2019s Back Yard<\/a>, an online creative literary magazine.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left; padding-left: 60px;\">In a world where vampires have been granted the same rights as humans, a teenage misfit and her vampire friend encounter bullying and racism in her hometown.<\/p>\n<p>Cardenas&#8217; poems,\u00a0&#8216;Vespula&#8217; and &#8216;Reading the Will&#8217; will appear in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.raspamagazine.com\">Raspa magazine<\/a>, a\u00a0\u00a0queer literary magazine that focuses on the Latino perspective.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MFA student of poetry, Tori Cardenas recently published several of her poems in multiple magazines.
