Writing about writing; feminism and composition; improving the essay as a genre
Amanda Cartigiano is originally from New York and moved to the Southwest to focus on writing. She graduated from the University of New Mexico in 2018 with a Bachelors in English - Creative Writing and a minor in Sociology. She writes writes poetry and nonfiction. Her poetry has been published in local New Mexican Newspapers and Magazines and her latest essay, “Know When to Fold” has been published by The Real Story. She was an editorial intern for online feminist publication, Slutmouth and is a regular contributor to Plume: A Writer’s Companion. While at UNM, Amanda hopes to continue her research on professional writing by connecting feminism, gender studies, and linguistics to composition.
