English Alum Awarded Prestigious ACE Fellowship

Dr. John D. Miles has been named an ACE Fellow by the American Council on Education. As described by the Council, the ACE Fellows Program is “the nation’s premier higher education leadership development program preparing senior leaders to serve American colleges and universities.” Ace Fellows select a host college or university, where they work with a Mentor (a president or other high-level administrator) and “participate in senior-level decision-making meetings at the host institution.” Miles will soon select a host institution and Mentor.

John Miles completed his doctoral work in Rhetoric and Composition in 2008, working under the direction of Professor Emerita Susan Romano. Later that year, Miles joined the English department at Wofford College, where he currently holds an impressive array of titles, including Dean of the Center for Innovation and Learning, Associate Professor of English, SACSCOC Liaison, and Director for Institutional Effectiveness. You can catch up on what John Miles has been up to at the Center for Innovation and Learning Web Page.
