I moved to Albuquerque when I was three, so I consider myself a native. During college at UNM and after graduating with a B.A. in Journalism, I worked as a local newspaper reporter and magazine editor and then veered into technical writing as a contractor to Sandia National Laboratories. After some years, I moved to head a small publishing group at a global software company. I took a hiatus from this work to support my children full time. For the last five years, since my youngest started kindergarten, I have worked part-time as the Communications Coordinator for a nonprofit. I just recently stopped to pursue my Master’s degree in Rhetoric and Professional Writing. I have really enjoyed all the variety of publications work I’ve done. In my spare time, I read, swim and sail a 16-foot Hobie catamaran. I am very happily married to Curtis Mowry, with whom I share my house, the Hobie, and all the care and clean-up after our fun, crazy kids, Gwen, 14, and Nate, 10; two spoiled dogs; some turtles and some fish.
