Katherine (Kate) Alexander, a UNM retiree, holds a Master of Music Degree (M.Mu.) in piano, a Master of Arts (M.A.) in English literature, and is currently a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of English at the University of New Mexico. Her studies focus on nineteenth-century British literature with a concentration on the women's contributions. Her areas of interest are British Romanticism, Victorian Literature, and Criticism and Theory. As she begins to write her dissertation, she continues teaching at UNM and performing as a pianist and organist.
