Biography

Chuck Paine teaches courses across the rhet-comp curriculum, including first-year-writing, the history of rhetoric, rhetorical and composition theory, the teaching-writing practicum, and others. He's the co-author of Writing Today (2nd edition), a genre-based composition textbook, the author of The Resistant Writer, a history of American composition, and the co-editor of Teaching with Student Texts. Currently he's working with an exciting group of new faculty to create innovative new programs in the first-year-writing curriculum and the Rhetoric and Writing graduate program.
